Anti-Gay Protesters Spread Hate in Alaska

It seems that Sarah Palin finally has some serious competition for being the most ignorant and downright ridiculous resident of Alaska.  Hard to imagine, I know, but Rev. Jerry Prevo and his followers from Anchorage Baptist Temple may have just stolen her crown.  

Prevo is once again on a mission to impose his hateful, discriminatory version of Christianity upon the people and laws of Alaska.  The historically anti-gay pastor's most recent target is Ordinance 64, which would add sexual orientation to a list of characteristics such as race, color, religion, age, and marital status for which it is illegal to discriminate in employment, property sales or rental, education, financing, and public accommodations.

  It is hard to fathom how passing an anti-discrimination law can be so controversial; however, it is also difficult to pinpoint when exactly Jesus became "the Lord of Alaska," as is the case in the following video of a recent protest against Ordinance 64. The hateful message and demeanor of these people is neither new nor shocking; however, it is extremely saddening to see so many children dragged into this damaging environment.  More likely than not these children are victims of the hateful rhetoric that is spewed by their parents and other so-called role models.  They quietly listen as the very people who should be teaching them about love and tolerance scream hate-filled slogans comparing the relationships of their gay neighbors and possible friends to everything from bestiality to incest.  

Forcing their religious doctrine into the laws of our nation, these people are the domestic Taliban.  They are terrorists. Plain and simple.
